Bankrupting the 'Patriarchy'. Part 2.
There will never be a feminist space race, Tesla, Google or Twitter. If you build it, they WILL come…but only to dismantle it.
I wrote Part 1 of Bankrupting the Patriarchy about Oberlin college and the woke administrators indignant determination to press ahead with false claims of racism against local family business Gibson’s Bakery. Oberlin were eventually ordered to pay £36 million in libel damages. I mused at the time, 2022, that perhaps “go woke, go broke” was actually the intersectional feminist (woke is intersectionality) business plan in the ultimate feminist goal of dismantling — via bankruptcy — the patriarchy.
This week we are faced with a similar strategy by Attorney General of New York, Letitia James, who has proudly imposed a penalty of almost half a billion dollars on Donald Trump for a victimless crime and something all businesses do. On Fox news, Kevin O’Leary, NY businessman and chairman of O’Leary Ventures stated the obvious: that this ruling will have a chilling effect on businesses deciding whether to invest in New York. This comes after another politically motivated attack on Elon Musk, where Delaware Judge Kathaleen McCormick, acting on behalf of a disgruntled former shareholder in Tesla stock, rescinded his $56 billion pay package. Most people look at the numbers here and think it an obscene amount and applaud it.
What they don’t know is that Musk drew up the package in 2018 and it was exclusively tied to performance. There was no cash bonus, no salary. Musk was sleeping on the floor of his Tesla office at the time.
Stipulated in the package, if the company only doubled the stock price, Musk got NOTHING. but if IF he increased revenue and sales, only then would be get 1% more of outstanding shares. This was a zero-sum deal that most pundits at the time thought “crazy”.
However, from 2018 to 2020, Musk increased the market value of shares by an extraordinary 800%. The person bringing this action against Musk owned nine shares but still made a fortune. Non-the-less, he was still clearly aggrieved at Musk’s highly risky success.
Today, Musk, like Trump, is facing a slew of politically motivated court actions designed to punish their intransigence in the face of political orthodoxy.
As I suggested in 2020 re Oberlin:
“What if the progressive administrative bureaucrats of these institutions are doing exactly what they should be doing, according to social justice, intersectional and critical race theory doctrines? And what if all the other million-dollar counterclaims brought against policies like Title IX sexual harassment cases are actually meant to succeed?
What if the wholesale reputational, administrative, structural and fiscal destruction of this institution - and others - is actually the primary aim and the Gibson family are little more than collateral damage in a far bigger game with far bigger stakes? What if “go woke go broke” is the business plan?
In 1984 (ironically) the Black Lesbian Feminist, Audrey Lorde penned an essay named, “The Master's Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master's House”. This is ironic because right now, the master's tools seem to be doing a pretty good job of doing just that!”
I don’t believe that most feminists consciously hit upon such a strategy as bankrupting the ‘patriarchy’. Feminist ideas are notorious for their myopia and for causing unintended consequences, such as radical feminists allowing intersectional feminists and gender theorists into their ranks which takes us straight to the current transgender craze. Something I have written about here: “The Cure for Feminism is not more Feminism.” Every worker in the feminist factory does not need to understand the shareholders intentions for them to succeed. Same with direct action: The diversity hires do not need to know that the aim of their hiring is to destabilise the business. They just need to be hired and go on doing an inferior job for the rot to set in. Whoever the people are who are flooding our once successful institutions and businesses with DEI know this. Feminists are their useful idiots.
It’s also worth noting that intersectional feminism (intersectionality), which has become the most successful feminist brand to have ever existed, emerged from Harvard Law School via Derrick Bell and Kimberlee Crenshaw with the specific aim to challenge the US constitution.
All I know and can see is that there is never going to be useful or original social or technological innovation originating from feminist theory. There will never be a feminist space race, Tesla, Google or Twitter. If you build it, they will come…but only to dismantle it.
It’s time we removed feminism from our institutions and businesses. Doing so will go some way to deactivating the mechanism that is undermining our civilisation.
Women are also just as corruptible by money as men!
Conflating shareholder legal actions (what are reasonable and unreasonable allocations between business owners and remunerations) and the regulation of business information (lying in business is not excused because everyone does it) with a feminist conspiracy is a bit far fetched. It reads as though "woke" is anything that billionaires don't like.
